Quiet does not mean remote

Stay somewhere quiet enough to enjoy Sanur's slower pace, but close enough to walk to breakfast, dinner, groceries and the beach. The villas sit behind one gate on a residential lane, and the streets around it lead straight to Jl. Danau Poso, Jl. Danau Tamblingan and the sea. You do not need a car every time you want a coffee, a meal or a bottle of water.

Sanur itself sits on Bali's sheltered east coast, facing Nusa Penida across reef-calmed water. It is the Bali of cyclists and early swimmers, of offerings made at dawn and long lunches under the trees: near enough to everything, far from the noise of it.

Where you are

A quiet lane on the sea side of Sanur

Follow the lanes from the gate past SALA Bistro towards the sea and you come out on Sanur Beach and its beachfront promenade. Restaurants, cafés and a minimarket are on the streets in between.

From there the promenade follows the coast north, past beach cafés towards Icon Bali and Sindhu, or south to Mertasari. What the water is like, and when to swim, is in our Sanur Beach guide.

More than enough to do

Sanur is small enough to walk and big enough to fill a long stay: the beach and the promenade, boats to the islands, markets, shopping and a proper gym, much of it without getting in a car.

Shopping & cinema

Icon Bali, a few minutes by car

Icon Bali opened on the Sanur beachfront in June 2024: around 200 shops and restaurants, a supermarket, a Cinema XXI with an IMAX screen, and a way straight through to the beach. From the villa it is a few minutes by car, taxi, Grab or Gojek, or a longer walk. Handy for the big shop, a rainy afternoon or a film, and then back to your own pool.
